Before joining the team of cantors at the Cathedral in 2012, Nigel was a member and choral scholar of the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir for eight years (2004 – 2011). Whilst studying at St. Kevin’s College, Toorak, he undertook formal vocal studies with the current Director of the Cathedral Choir, Daryl Barclay. He also studied cello for 10 years at St. Kevin’s. He has completed a Bachelor of Arts degree (majoring in Music and Literary Studies) at Monash University, Clayton. He is continuing his studies and will commence postgraduate studies in Secondary Teaching mid-2016. Nigel is also a member of the music ministry team at his local parish, St Patrick’s, Murrumbeena.
