Cathedral Singers
The St Patrick’s Cathedral Singers were formed in May 1996 to supplement the musical resources of the Cathedral. A small adult volunteer choir of auditioned voices, they sing weekly under the direction of the Director of Music to provide music for the Sunday evening Mass.

Since 1997, the Singers have also provided music each year for the Office of Tenebrae on Good Friday evening, including settings of the responsories by Victoria, Ingegneri, Lassus and Gesualdo. They also join with the Cathedral Choir on special occasions, and sing occasionally for other masses in the Cathedral. Their concert performances have included some in the Melbourne International Festival of Organ and Harpsichord (1998) and in the Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields festival (1998 and 1999).
